Management Team

 

HARRY BARNETT— Managing Partner

As the co-founder and Managing Partner of CAP, Mr. Barnett continues to implement and expand CAP’s business mission.  Mr. Barnett has more than 15 years experience in operational and financial management, with more than a decade in the healthcare sector. He actively manages and personally participates in many of CAP’s programs.
 
Prior to founding CAP, Mr. Barnett was CEO of Receptor, Inc., a biotech investment company that successfully commercialized a pharmaceutical technology developed at Brigham & Women’s Hospital used in the over-the-counter heartburn remedy, Pepcid Complete®.  Mr. Barnett was also CEO of Uniqual Detox Networks, a Massachusetts-based startup company that utilized cutting edge medical techniques in combination with rehabilitation strategies to help heroin addicts successfully detox.
 
Mr. Barnett received his BA from Tufts University in 1984 and his law degree from Boston University School of Law in 1987.  Mr. Barnett is licensed to practice law in Massachusetts and California.

STEPHEN T. SONIS, D.M.D., D.M.Sc. — Chief Medical Consultant

,Dr. Sonis is a preeminent clinician, researcher and FDA recognized expert in cancer regimen-related mucosal toxicities. He has over 20 years experience in the design and implementation of clinical trials in the prevention and treatment of mucosal barrier injury.

Dr. Sonis has published extensively on the clinical, biological, and health economic aspects of oral complications of cancer therapy. He is the author of more than 140 original publications, 40 reviews and chapters, 7 books, and 5 patents. He has lectured extensively on the clinical and biological aspects of mucosal barrier injury induced by cancer therapy.  Dr. Sonis serves on a number of editorial boards, and is a founding member of the International Society of Oral Oncology and the International Academy of Oral Onocology.

Currently, he is the Chief of the Division of Oral Medicine at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Senior Surgeon at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Professor and Chair of the Department of Oral Medicine, Infection, and Immunity at Harvard.
